Daycare Menu Review & PPM 150 Approva

ppm_150The Ontario Ministry of Education announced the Ontario School Food and Beverage Policy (PPM 150) in 2010.  PPM 150 requires healthier food and beverage choices to be sold in Ontario’s publicly funded elementary and secondary schools.  The policy applies when food and beverage are sold in all venues on school property such as cafeterias, vending machines and tuck shops; through all programs, including catered lunch programs; and at all events on school property, including bake sales and sport events.

Filomena has worked with a number of catering and pizza establishments to approve their hot lunches for sale in schools since the inception of PPM 150 5 years ago.  She has guided them to improving their recipes to ensure standards as set out by the Minister of Education are met.
